There is an old Chinese saying “may you live in interesting times”. Whilst seemingly innocuous this cunning turn of phrase is in fact intended as a curse. John F. This was true during Kennedy’s Presidency in the 60’s and it is equally true, if not more so, today during the term of Donald J. Trump.

In this digital age of fake news and cyber security attacks we do indeed live in interesting times. We live in confusing times when it is not easy to decipher fact from fiction or truth from lies.
In recent times Lord Neil Gibson has suffered from cyber-attacks attempting to spread fake news stories about him and tarnish his name and reputation. It is an unfortunate situation born of jealousy perhaps but whatever the cause, Lord Neil is fighting against it.
There are numerous reasons why someone would want to hack a website. During the advent of the internet, hackers might have attacked websites to boost their egos or to show off that they were capable of pulling off such tasks. Essentially, hacking was synonymous with a “look at what I can do!” mentality. These days, the internet landscape is much more robust and complicated than the good old days.
As more and more of our lives, personal details and records go online the motivation for hackers to access your information has grown exponentially. This isn’t even taking into consideration the obvious issue of internet banking.
The attack on the websites of Lord Gibson was not for monetary gain but rather a personal attack in an effort to spread fake news. His sites were compromised by hackers, however a special security team has been brought on board to identify and secure any breaches to online systems going forward. Only web content was affected and while nothing has been identified as of yet, forensics and log file review are ongoing.
As you may have read, Gibson recently attended the Future Blockchain Summit that was hosted by Smart Dubai and organized by Dubai World Trade Centre. One of Lord Gibson’s primary reason for accepting the invitation to attend the conference was to research what blockchain could do for his personal cybersecurity and he was happy with what he learned.
At a basic level a blockchain is a decentralized, digitized, public ledger of all transactions and uses what is known as the Distributed Ledger Technology. This could potentially help enhance cyber-defense as the platform can prevent fraudulent activities via consensus mechanisms. Owing to their distributed nature, blockchains provide no ‘hackable’ entrance or a central point of failure and, thereby, provide more security when compared with various present database-driven transactional structures.
This technology is being looked at by Lord Neil Gibson and his team to prevent future attacks, to prevent fake news stories about him going into the public domain and to make life a little easier by spreading truths and facts rather than lies and fiction. April 29th was a significant day for Lord Neil Benjamin Gibson and LNBG Investment LLC as on that date Lord Gibson signed contracts with Imperial Capital Investments LLC. This multi-million Dollar deal is in relation to land, owned by Gibson in The Bahamas, totaling over 700 Acres. 

The land in The Bahamas was purchased by Gibson several years ago and is further proof of his entrepreneurial spirit and his uncanny ability to see potential where others may overlook. This particular piece of land has a storied past, having once being owned by Michael Jackson prior to his death in June, 2009. but is now ripe for development and Lord Gibson is excited about what is coming in the very near future.  

This development will be a massive boost to the Caribbean island which is still struggling to recover from the confusion surrounding the 2017 mega storm, Hurricane Irma. Whilst The Bahamas was more fortunate than other parts of the Caribbean, it’s hotels were largely open for business again within a week of the Hurricane passing though, it is still suffering indirectly from confusion and fear amongst tourists who are unsure which islands got hit the worst or are possibly even afraid of the potential of further super storms in the future. 

Gibson has been working tirelessly to broker a deal with a well know international group and this recent agreement with Capital Investment LLC, who are licensed by UAE Central Bank, will greatly assist the deal as they are guaranteeing the funds required. At the time writing negotiations remain ongoing and as such not too many details can be announced. However, as progress is made and more details can be released Lord Gibson will make sure to reveal all.  

The massive investment and construction that Neil Gibson is striving for will send out a beacon to holiday-makers around the world that The Bahamas is indeed open for business and should give people the reassurance needed to once again make the island nation the destination of choice for luxury, relaxation and recreation.

Economic activity is gradually improving says the report. Preliminary data for Fiscal Year 2014 (July 2013-June 2014) shows economic growth is picking up, driven mainly by services and manufacturing. Acceleration in growth of large-scale manufacturing came from strong performance of agro-based industries, iron and steel, construction, and external demand-driven cotton yarn- and fabrics-based textiles.”

Shortly after the earth quake in January 2010 in Haïti, a dire need arose to provide adequate shelters to the victims who lost their homes in the disaster. To assist with this process, a private hotel owner on the island chose to quickly have a 4 star hotel, called Servotel, built close to the national airport near the capital of Haïti, Port-au-Prince. The hotel was intended to house many international guests from the media and from NGO’s that visited the island to survey the disaster. Nearly all hotels on the island were either completely collapsed or unusable

A complete new hotel consisting of prefabricated hotel units was in less than 8 weeks designed and engineered. 72 rooms of each 4,8 x 5 m, complete with all furniture and equipment to the last detail. All rooms also have their own A/C system and digital door lock system.

The extra wide (4,8 m) design of the rooms give a very spacious look and feel, quite different from the standard hotel room width. Travellers that stay in the hotel are unaware of any construction details and consistently surprised to learn the construction of their rooms came from fully finished prefabricated steel modules transformed into the gorgeous hotel building they stayed in.

After the 2010 floods that devastated parts of Pakistan, NBC reported the following:

The cost of rebuilding Pakistan after its devastating floods could exceed $10 to $15 billion…He said this was a rough estimate because an assessment of the extent of the damage caused by the floods — which have affected 20 million people — had yet to be carried out.

But the number gave an indication of the scale of the reconstruction needed after the floods swept away roads, bridges and telecommunications, and destroyed crops for food supplies, exports and cotton for its vital textile industry.

"It will take at least five years," High Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hasan told Reuters in an interview. Asked about the cost of rebuilding, he said, "I think more than $10 to $15 billion."

Pakistani authorities have breached a strategic dyke in flood-affected Punjab to ease pressure on flood defences downstream and protect urban areas.

More than 700,000 villagers have been forced to flee their homes.

Much of the water is reaching Pakistan from Indian-administered Kashmir where flood levels are now falling.

There have been chaotic scenes at one of the region's main airports, Srinagar, as tourists and migrant workers struggle to leave. The death toll in the two countries has passed 450, with troops deployed to rescue people and provide assistance. The flooding is the worst Indian-administered Kashmir has seen in decades. Officials say 400,000 people are stranded there and at least 200 people have died.

Pakistan has not experienced floods as devastating since 2010 - officials say 254 people have died in the past few days.

SADC LEADERS CONFERENCED TO DISCUSS LESOTHO INCIDENT, AS LORD NEIL B. GIBSON OFFERS COMMENTS

In response to the events of late August, what has been now called an attempted coup by Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing against Prime Minister Tom Thabane in retaliation to the Prime Minister’s suspension of parliament, believed to be a tactic to avoid a mounting vote of no confidence, the leaders of the Southern African Community Development (SADC) conferenced over the matter earlier this September.

The iOL reported.

“Tension remains high in Lesotho, where Prime Minister Thomas Thabane is still refusing to recall parliament - as he had agreed to do last week - until the security situation had been resolved.

Zuma was in Lesotho on Tuesday to try to persuade Thabane and his chief political rival and coalition partner, Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing, to resolve their power struggle.

He gave Thabane, Metsing and the third coalition leader Thesele Maseribane two days to agree on when they would reopen parliament after Thabane reneged on an agreement to open it on September 19.”

“But that did not happen. Instead, Thabane wrote to Zuma on Thursday explaining it was not feasible to reopen parliament because of the security threat presented by Lesotho Defence Force commander Tladi Kennedy Kamoli, who led a coup which briefly toppled Thabane last month and forced him to flee to South Africa.

The iOL lastly reported that, “Thabane had agreed at a previous SADC summit on September 1 he would reopen parliament on September 19. But he backed off that agreement, prompting Zuma, chairman of SADC’s security troika - to visit Lesotho on Tuesday to meet the three coalition leaders who then agreed to meet by Friday to set a new date to open parliament.”

During late August, Prime Minister Tom Thabane was safely escorted back to his home in the capital of Lesotho, as a result of fleeing what has been labeled as an attempted coup by Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing August 30^th, fueled by the nation’s military.

The military are believed to be supporters of Metsing, with an attempted coup further thought to be in response to Thabane’s suspension of parliament sessions in June earlier this summer, a strategy many interpreted as a maneuver by the prime minister to avoid a mounting vote of no confidence amid feuding in his coalition.

Lesotho's Prime Minister Thomas Thabane has returned home after fleeing the mountain kingdom to neighbouring South Africa on Saturday.

At the time he said the military had staged a coup - a charge it denied. Regional leaders rejected his call for troops to be deployed to restore order.

The unrest is thought to be linked to a struggle between Mr Thabane, reportedly supported by the police, and Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing, said to have the loyalty of the army.

SUPREME COURT RULES IN FAVOR OF LORD NEIL B. GIBSON

A settlement agreement earlier this year in January was the result of a complaint Lord Gibson filed for libel, slander, intentional infliction of emotional distress and misappropriation of likeness.
